Στο επίκεντρο της συζήτησης για την διεύρυνση της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης στα Βαλκάνια και για το μέλλον των παράκτιων περιοχών των Βαλκανίων και της Μαύρης Θάλασσας, θα βρεθεί η Ελλάδα και η πόλη της Πάτρας.
Για πρώτη φορά, διοργανώνεται στην Ελλάδα από αύριο Τετάρτη το Διεθνές Συνέδριο της Διάσκεψης Παράκτιων Περιφερειών (CPMR), με πρωτοβουλία του Αντιπεριφερειάρχη Π.Ε. Αχαΐας κ. Φωκίωνα Ζαΐμη, ο οποίος είναι Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Βαλκανίων και Εύξεινου Πόντου.
Το Συνέδριο προσελκύει στην χώρα μας κορυφαία πολιτικά πρόσωπα, επιστήμονες και τεχνοκράτες από συνολικά 40 Περιφέρειες των χωρών που ανήκουν στην CPMR, ενώ σημαντική θα είναι η συμμετοχή των εκπροσώπων της χώρας μας, καθώς θα υπάρχει παρέμβαση του Ευρωπαίου Επιτρόπου κ. Απόστολου Τζιτζικώστα, ενώ θα συμμετέχουν Υπουργοί, βουλευτές, ο Περιφερειάρχης Δυτικής Ελλάδας κ. Νεκτάριος Φαρμάκης, Αντιπεριφερειάρχες της χώρας και σημαντικοί επιστήμονες.
Το σημαντικό Διεθνές Συνέδριο έχει την σφραγίδα της Επιτροπής Βαλκανίων και Μαύρης Θάλασσας (BBSC) της Διάσκεψης Παράκτιων Περιφερειών (CPMR), σε συνεργασία με τον Οργανισμό Οικονομικής Συνεργασίας Ευξείνου Πόντου (BSEC) και την Κοινοβουλευτική Συνέλευση του Οργανισμού Οικονομικής Συνεργασίας Ευξείνου Πόντου (PABSEC).
«Είναι σημαντική ευκαιρία συζήτησης για το μέλλον της ευρύτερης περιοχής μας, καθώς και για περαιτέρω δικτύωση και ανάπτυξη διεθνών συνεργασιών. Μπορούμε να συμφωνήσουμε σε βασικούς άξονες συνεργασίας στην ζώνη των Βαλκανίων και της Μαύρης Θάλασσας και στην διαμόρφωση ενός πιο συνεκτικού και ανθεκτικού, σύγχρονου και βιώσιμου αναπτυξιακού πλαισίου για την ευρύτερη περιοχή».
Κατά τη διάρκεια του Συνεδρίου θα έρθουν σε επαφή διακεκριμένοι και υψηλόβαθμοι εκπρόσωποι εθνικών κυβερνήσεων, ευρωπαϊκοί και διεθνείς οργανισμοί, προωθώντας τον διάλογο και την ουσιαστική συνεργασία στην ευρύτερη περιοχή των Βαλκανίων και της Μαύρης Θάλασσας. «Εκτιμούμε ότι θα λειτουργήσει ως μια δομημένη πλατφόρμα διαλόγου και συνεργασίας μεταξύ χωρών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, αλλά και χωρών εκτός αυτής για να επιτύχουμε έργα υψηλής προστιθέμενης αξίας για την κοινωνία», πρόσθεσε ο κ. Ζαΐμης.
Το πρόγραμμα του Συνεδρίου είναι διαρθρωμένο σε πέντε βασικές θεματικές ενότητες, που περιλαμβάνουν:
Τα ενεργειακά δίκτυα και τη διασυνοριακή συνεργασία, τις μεταφορές, την κλιματική αλλαγή και τη διαχείριση των υδάτινων πόρων, την στρατηγική συνεργασία στον τουρισμό και την ανάπτυξη της γαλάζιας οικονομίας.
Ανάμεσα στους διακεκριμένους καλεσμένους ομιλητές θα είναι: η Επίτροπος Μεσογείου, Ντουμπράβκα Σουίτσα, ο Υφυπουργός Εξωτερικών κ. Χάρης Θεοχάρης, ο Δημήτρης Αβραμόπουλος, πρώην Επίτροπος Μετανάστευσης, Εσωτερικών Υποθέσεων και Ιθαγένειας. Επίσης θα συμμετάσχουν ανώτατα κυβερνητικά στελέχη από τις χώρες των Βαλκανίων και Μαύρης Θάλασσας ενώ θα υπάρξει και εκπροσώπηση από την Κίνα, με τον Καθηγητή Xiao Yun Zheng από το Hubei University.
Στους βασικούς εισηγητές συγκαταλέγονται μεταξύ άλλων: η πρώτη Αντιπρόεδρος της CPMR Mariette Van Leeuwen, ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του BSEC Lazar Comanescu καθώς και η Αναπληρώτρια Γενική Γραμματέας του PABSEC Valentina Cobzareanu.
